Carotid artery disease program

 

Salem Health provides several treatments for carotid artery disease, including:

  • Carotid endarterectomy
  • Transfemoral carotid artery stenting
  • Novel TCAR procedure (transcarotid artery revascularization using minimally invasive carotid-based stenting with flow reversal)

Salem Health also offers carotid artery duplex screening and surveillance in our IAC-accredited vascular laboratory.

Vascular (hemodialysis) access program

This program is dedicated to caring for people who:

  • Have chronic kidney disease
  • Are nearing dialysis
  • Already on dialysis and need vascular access (dialysis catheter placement and removal, fistula creation, arteriovenous graft placement, minimally invasive fistula and graft revision)

Our collective goal is to improve access for patients with chronic renal failure and/or end-stage renal disease.

We also strive to decrease hospitalizations and the use of temporary catheters to improve the quality of life for patients living with kidney disease.
