Many adults need to update their vaccinations

Some adults may not realize that vaccines are needed throughout their lives. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says immunity from childhood vaccines can wear off over time. Adults are also at risk for different diseases than children. Vaccination is one of the most convenient and safest ways to prevent many health problems.

The CDC says all adults need these vaccines:

  • Influenza — Every year
  • Tetanus and diphtheria (Td) or Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap) — Every ten years

Take a short quiz to find out which vaccines are recommended for you — and create a customized printout to take with you to your next medical appointment.

Salem Health offers convenient locations where you can update your vaccinations:

Note: Some adults with specific health conditions should not get certain vaccines or should wait to get them.

Talk with your doctor to make sure you get the vaccines that are right for you.
