Oregon practitioners are required by state law to register for the Oregon Prescription Drug Monitoring Program by July 1, 2018. If you are licensed to prescribe by the Drug Enforcement Administration, you should register for the PDMP.

While this a state requirement and not tied to your credentialing at Salem Health, we believe it is an important program that can improve patient care and combat prescription drug abuse. It is also part of the Joint Commission’s new pain management standards.

The PDMP contains information on schedule II to IV controlled prescription medications dispensed by Oregon-licensed retail pharmacies. Authorized users can log on to the system and request a report of the controlled substance medications dispensed to their patients.

The program is intended to provide practitioners and pharmacists with a tool to identify patients at risk for prescription abuse. You can learn more about the program in this fact sheet.

The registration process for a practitioner is fairly straightforward and not too time intensive.  For your convenience, please click here to complete your registration.
