Starting April 3 we will have a new format for the recently re-chartered OSAG* (order set advisory group) process. You can review the process document linked above for more detail, but here’s an overview:

  • An updated online form
  • Expectation that the requestor of the change will provide the content, resulting in a more accurate first pass, and therefore a decreased time getting it into Epic
  • All new ordersets, order panels, standing orders and protocols will have an “owner” assigned to ensure that the enhancement stays current throughout its lifecycle

We expect a decrease in the time it takes to fulfill requests. We will report progress after a 60-day check. If you have any questions, please feel free to stop by.

*OSAG exists to review, approve, and move requests for ordersets, order panels, standing orders and protocols forward in the implementation process. OSAG includes representation across disciplines in the organization to ensure alignment to operational workflows and best practices.
