Medical staff and credentialed providers: Oregon mandate requires all health care workers to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 18

01 Sep 2021

By: Matt Boles, MD, Vice President of Medical Affairs

Since the beginning of the pandemic our health care professionals have sacrificed greatly to care for our patients and we are extremely grateful for all that you have done and continue to do during these times. As frontline caregivers, you are essential to protecting the health and wellbeing of our community and one of our best defenses against the virus is being fully vaccinated.

On Aug. 19, 2021, Governor Kate Brown announced that the state of Oregon will require all health care workers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 18, 2021. We are proud to say that our Salem Health medical staff and credentialed providers were early adopters and an overwhelming majority are in compliance with this mandate.

What’s next?

Due to the mandate and requirements on what is acceptable documentation, if we are missing documentation of your vaccination status, the Medical Staff Office will contact you via the email address you have on record with the office. The notification includes instructions on how to deliver proof of vaccination or how to request an exception under Oregon Health Authority guidelines.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kelly Aebi, Director of Medical Staff Services at 503-814-3889 or via email at Kelly.Aebi@salemhealth.org.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the care of our community.
