Lower radiation with Canon Acquilion One 256

By: Polly Bisquera, PMO project manager

The Imaging Department’s (Salem Hospital) installation of the new Canon Aquilion One 256 slice CT is complete, delivering higher imaging quality and lower radiation doses to our patients. It will also expand our cardiac scanning capabilities.

The Imaging Department began seeing patients using this machine April 5. The mobile CT trailer on campus attached to the Imaging Department will continue to be in use primarily for outpatients as we upgrade a second CT as part of this project, sometime this fall.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Jonathan Fetterley, imaging service line director.
