Construction update: Parking changes began Jan. 6

19 Jan 2020

ED drop-off moved, valet service, more reminders

By: Hannah Bauer, technical communications coordinator

Here’s your hospital construction update:

  • The emergency department entrance vehicle drop-off has moved to the Oak Street turnaround. A complementary patient valet service is running 24/7 to expedite access. Access to the turnaround for non-emergent use is severely restricted.
  • A complementary valet service also serves Building C patients in that garage during business hours. All Building C patients are encouraged to use this service.
  • Provider parking is no longer available in the parking garage and the parking lot east of Building D.
  • Provider parking is available in the following locations:
    • Under Building A (accessible from Winter St.)
    • B south parking lot
    • 720 Winter Street parking lot
    • Behind (west side) Building B
  • If you arrive to provide emergent care (surgery, emergency medicine, OB, etc.), existing workflows remain in place. This includes designated parking under Building A and next to Building D. In extreme cases, providers should simply drive to the Oak Street turnaround for valet service.

Don’t forget to complete your mandatory HealthStream CBT and register your vehicle before Feb. 17.

  • At the end of the CBT, you will have the opportunity to register your vehicle(s).
  • You will need to know your license plate number for all vehicles you wish to park on campus.
  • Your experience with the registration website will greatly benefit from paying close attention to the tip sheet.

Here’s how providers access HealthStream, depending on whether they are on-site or off-site:

  • On-Site/Salem Health computer: From the Intranet/Home Page, go to the Tools & Resources section, click on the HealthStream link
  • Off-Site/Personal computer: Go to www.healthstream.com/hlc/salemhealth.
  • You will also receive an HS Alert for the new course assignment which includes the link to access the log-on page.
