Police toy drive expands to serve more charities

Salem Health is proud to join the Salem Police Department’s annual holiday toy drive. Look for a festive collection box in the departments where you practice.

This year, all of Salem Health will join the drive: West Valley Hospital’s drive will benefit the Polk County Sheriff’s toy drive.

“I’m excited to create a ‘surplus’ of toys so we can help even more children,” said Dr. Thye Schuyler, Salem Health Medical Group toy drive coordinator.

Toy guidelines:

  • New, unwrapped, $10 minimum, all ages, up to 18 years old.
  • Money donations also appreciated
  • To protect toys from theft, collection boxes need to be located in hospital units and departments, rather than public lobbies — although main boxes will be located in the CHEC and at Salem Health Administration.
  • Final pickup is Dec. 6.
