Salem Health Foundation welcomes two new board members

The Salem Health Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mike Hanslits, MD, and Alex Rhoten have joined the board.

The Foundation is a charitable organization that supports medical and medically related projects for Salem Health. The volunteer directors help raise, manage and distribute Foundation funds according to donor wishes — to help Salem Health achieve its mission of improving the health and well-being of the people and community it serves.

Dr. Hanslits joined Salem Radiology Consultants in 1991. His professional interests include advanced body imaging and CT virtual colonoscopy, coronary and heart CT angiography, and women's imaging. He has been active in medical staff affairs throughout his career, serving at Salem Health with a focus on the quality of care and patient safety issues.

Rhoten is the owner of and a principal broker at Coldwell Banker Commercial Mountain West Real Estate, with offices in Salem and Portland. He has been active in Northwest commercial real estate since 1984. Rhoten also currently serves as the President of the Salem Fire Foundation.

The Salem Health Foundation Board of Directors also currently includes Garth Brandaw, Alex Casebeer, Mike Delk, Eric Fiskum, Barbara Furer, Kathy Gordon, Barbara Halsey, Raghu Kamineni, MD, Robert Ponec, MD, and Theresa Wade.

In 2016, the Salem Health Foundation granted $1.1 million dollars for various projects including patient assistance, scholarships for students pursuing medically related careers, and hospital equipment. Find the latest updates on the Foundation’s Facebook page.
