Social work
We provide a variety of social services for our patients. Our social workers are a valuable source for information on community resources, work with various agencies to coordinate patient and family services, and provide information on financial resources and discharge planning.
Interpreter services and the Lifeline Program are also coordinated by social services specialists.
At Salem Hospital’s Regional Rehabilitation Center, our social workers are an integral part of your care team.
With our medical staff, and occupational, physical and speech therapists, our social workers collaborate on patient care. This cooperative effort results in a streamlined program designed with input from your entire care team on how to best meet your overall needs and goals.
Social workers advocate for both you and your family. They evaluate your special needs, your family composition and financial resources. They provide you with emotional support and coping strategies.
Social workers are trained to assist in identifying helpful government and community resources, such as medical, educational, financial and mental health agencies that fit your family’s needs.
