Salem Rehabilitation Associates is a group of physiatrists, located in the Salem Hospital Regional Rehabilitation Center, who work with our patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based medical treatments and physician-directed rehabilitation services.

Physiatrist’s are medical doctors who help people regain lost function and help prevent future loss of function via medication management services and rehabilitation. Physiatrists focus on conditions that affect your muscles and spine, including common degenerative diseases such as arthritis or bursitis.

For example, if you are an injured worker or athlete, or have chronic pain, neurological conditions or other musculoskeletal impairment, a physiatrist would work with your primary physician to direct a treatment program, calling in other medical specialists (physical or occupational therapists, pain specialists, etc.) as needed.

Physiatrists oversee patient care in many areas including stroke, spinal cord injuries, sports injuries, lower back pain, pain management, pediatric rehabilitation, neuromuscular conditions, amputation, fibromyalgia and brain injury.
