Degenerative neurological conditions
Salem Hospitals Regional Rehabilitation Center's comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation program is the only one of its kind in the Mid-Willamette Valley serving Marion, Polk, Linn, Benton, Lincoln counties and beyond.
If you are referred from acute care at Salem Hospital or from another hospital in Oregon, you may transition to our comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation program where you will receive additional therapy and 24-hour nursing care to assist in further recovery from events affecting your neuromuscular system.
To help you become as independent as possible, our therapists will work with you, your family or caregiver, and your physician, to create a personal recovery plan.
Our program is designed for people who require short-term (one to three weeks), comprehensive rehabilitative care following hospitalization.
Most of our patients are recovering from disabling illnesses or injuries such as:
- Strokes.
- Brain injuries.
- Cancer.
- Spinal cord injuries.
- Progressive neurological conditions.
- Complex orthopedic injuries.
- Loss of limb.
We help you achieve your maximum level of independence. We provide around the clock nursing care with a minimum of three hours a day of rehabilitative therapy. That is two to three times more therapy than provided in a typical skilled nursing facility.
Our inpatient rehabilitation program is designed to give you the skills and knowledge to return home safely.
Upon completion of the program, your doctor may recommend in-home care or continued therapy in an outpatient program.
Outpatient services at the Regional Rehabilitation Center deliver many of the same resources and therapies provided in our inpatient program resulting in a continuity of care.
