Wellness Classic Tournament raises record funds for heart services

The sixth annual Salem Hospital Foundation Wellness Classic Golf Tournament netted a record $56,837 for cardiac services at Salem Hospital.
Since the event began in 2008, the tournament has raised over $275,000 for a number of programs and services at Salem Hospital.
This year, all proceeds raised support the hospital’s cardiac programs. The Salem Hospital Foundation has provided funding for equipment such as electrophysiology mapping systems for heart patients suffering from abnormal or irregular heartbeats, cardiac resource guides for patients to take home when they leave the hospital, and community education programs, including forums.
The Grand Wellness Sponsor for the scramble tournament, held at Creekside Golf Club, was Turner Construction. Presenting sponsors were: Accretive Health; Hematology Oncology of Salem, Drs. Selma & Bud Pierce; and Mountain West Investment Corporation.
