RN residency program

The Nurse Residency program is an evidence-based platform which has been implemented to support registered nurses with less than one year of nursing experience as they transition into the role of a professional nurse. Course content and curriculum is based upon recommendations of the National League of Nursing (NLN), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Nurses Association (ANA) and various peer-reviewed articles. The residency is then tailored specifically to the culture of Salem Health.

The Nurse Residency program is a formal six month professional development course. It begins with initial orientation and training and proceeds to monthly cohort meetings.

These meetings are 3.5 hours in length with varied topics geared toward the high-level professional development of an entry-level registered nurse.
