Sudeep Taksali, MD

Bio
Dr. Taksali is an orthopedic trauma surgeon and the Medical Director of Orthopedics at Salem Health. He is known for compassionate leadership and expertise in improving patient care while managing costs. Dr. Taksali holds dual degrees in Biology and Economics from Stanford University and earned his M.D. from Rush Medical College. Dr. Taksali completed his orthopedic residency at Yale and orthopedic trauma fellowship at UT Southwestern. Dr. Taksali currently serves on the Oregon Medical Board and is passionate about advancing health equity, diversity, and inclusion in medicine. He is also nearing the completion of his Master’s in Health Administration at USC in December 2024. Outside of work, he volunteers in community organizations and enjoys photography

Interests
Along with practicing orthopedic trauma surgery, Dr. Taksali has special interests in geriatric fracture management, palliative care, and healthcare economics. Dr. Taksali also has a deep interest in leadership and a commitment to continuous learning. His focus includes developing and executing strategies that optimize operational efficiency, elevate patient care and increase value for patients—where value means delivering the highest quality of care at the most reasonable cost. Dr. Taksali’s leadership extends across multiple roles, where he enjoys collaborating with diverse teams to drive innovation, improve outcomes, and cultivate a culture of excellence.
