West Valley Hospital opens two more units

Capacity grows to 25 beds, adding more staff

Our West Valley Hospital community is growing! This week we’ll open the first of two new units to bring the hospital to full capacity at 25 beds:

• On Thursday, May 11, 16 beds will open, and the WVH swing bed unit that has been operating at Salem Hospital will return to Dallas.
• The final nine beds will open Wednesday, June 28.

As a part of its growth, several things are changing at WVH:

• Adding 19 beds.
• Hiring about 70 full-time equivalency positions.
• Restructuring the leadership team to better align with Salem Health.
  • This alignment will shore up standards and expand expertise available to West Valley Hospital and outpatient services. Departmental managers will report up through directors in the Salem Health system, rather than directors housed solely on the West Valley Hospital campus.

West Valley Hospital is an integral part of its community and our expansion will only strengthen that role. We are excited for this new chapter!
