Today, together, we share our excitement as our two organizations come together and begin a new chapter. We are thrilled to welcome Santiam Hospitals & Clinics to the Salem Health family.  

As you know, the State of Oregon completed its approval of the affiliation between Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics and Santiam Hospital & Clinics on Aug. 7, and we anticipate completing the final steps of the affiliation on Monday, Aug. 31.  

Once those steps are complete, we will begin the important work of integrating into one health system, united by a shared commitment to serving our communities and strengthening care into the future. Our integration process will take a number of months, and we deeply appreciate your patience and partnership during this final pre-integration phase and beyond.    

We are committed to keeping our medical staff, patients, employees and community informed and engaged as integration planning progresses and additional information becomes available. Integrating two healthcare organizations takes time, planning, and coordination. 

Throughout this transition, our focus remains on supporting the exceptional care our providers deliver every day. The expertise, judgment, and commitment of our medical staff are central to the care experience and the outcomes our patients depend on. This partnership strengthens access to care, supports the long-term future of Santiam, and builds on the shared values and culture that have guided both of our organizations for decades.   

Finally, as we begin this next chapter together, we invite you to celebrate with medical staff colleagues across our system.

• West Valley Hospital Block Party: 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15   
• Santiam Hospital Block Party: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16  
• Salem Hospital Block Party: 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17  

We look forward to celebrating. For now, thank you for the expertise, dedication, and compassion you bring to patient care every day. Because of our medical staff, our patients, families and communities receive exceptional care close to home.  

As we move forward together, we remain committed to supporting the providers who deliver exceptional care every day and to strengthening clinical partnerships that advance access, quality, and patient outcomes. Together, we will continue serving the communities of the mid-Willamette Valley and Santiam Canyon with a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, equitable care for generations to come.
