Updates from IS: E-prescribing and single sign on coming soon

08 Dec 2019

Providers must enroll at a session to e-prescribe

By: Andrew Clarke, MD, chief medical information officer

You will notice some upgrades coming from information services this month to improve security, allow for electronic prescribing and simplify signing into computers. Most pressing is the need for providers to enroll in e-prescribing. You cannot enroll in e-prescribing on your own due to regulations, so please come to one of the following drop-in enrollment sessions:

  • Monday, Dec. 9, Building D lobby in front of the CHEC, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 10, Creekside Overflow, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 11, Medical Staff Office Conference Room, Building B, third floor, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 12, Creekside Overflow, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 13, Creekside Overflow, 7 to 9 a.m.

We are making the upgrade to e-prescribing at the same time as upgrading some hardware to allow for sign in using employee badges. Part of that package is increasing computer login security. In the near future, you will notice that your lock screen looks something like the screenshot below:

We will communicate more about this as we get closer to go-live, but wanted to give you notice that this change is coming. For now, nothing about your computer log in process will change, and no action is needed from you. Look to further communications to follow soon!
