We are just 10 days from moving into A Expansion (soon to be “A East”)! Many providers have been instrumental in making this monumental milestone for Salem Health as seamless as possible, and we want to thank them. We celebrated the new building with a community ribbon cutting on Wednesday, June 29, and received our license from the state of Oregon as well, so the building will open on time and under budget!
As a reminder, the first patients will be moved into the building on July 14 from Building B units 4S and 5S. Then on July 25, the remaining patients will be moved from 5NW and 6N. Here is a link to key dates and FAQs and here is another which outlines details on the move, including the names of the new units and where they will be located.
In order to ensure organizational focus, leaders and staff have been encouraged to prioritize meetings directly related to A Expansion move efforts and A3 work over other important, but competing, priorities. This might mean some meetings are canceled or rescheduled, or staff/providers might take a little longer to return calls or respond to emails as they work to safely and efficiently move patients. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
We will publish an Urgent Common Ground closer to July 14 (the date of the first move) with information about ways to escalate concerns. We are looking forward to the addition of these 150 beds to serve the growing and changing needs of our community.
