The next big upgrade to Epic launches Oct. 11 with a set of enhancements. Here are the major stages:

March – May: building and configuration

Enhancement freeze, effective immediately: New enhancement requests (non break-fix or patient safety critical) will be placed in a queue to be held until post go-live. If you have an emergent or patient safety-based change, please call the Solution Center. Changes related to existing requests and current project work will continue unless otherwise communicated.

June – September: testing and training

Training requirements and information coming soon.

September – October: pre-go live and go live!

  • Hard build freeze-starting Sept. 11: No changes will be made to Epic until after the command center closes.
  • Reporting freeze-Sept. 1 to Dec. 1– existing reports will continue to be generated. Please continue to use the online form for reporting requests (which will be monitored and prioritized).
  • There will be an extended Epic downtime starting after midnight on Oct. 11 to apply the upgrade to the system.

We are incorporating many lessons learned from past projects into this upgrade. Questions? Contact Phillip Armstrong, program manager.
