Second case of measles reported in Portland area

The month of August brings measles to Oregon

Oregon Health Authority has confirmed a second case of measles Aug. 19, in the Portland metro area. This most recent person affected had been in close contact with the person from first measles case, diagnosed on Aug. 10. OHA and local public health agencies will continue to monitor.

Measles poses the highest risk with individuals who are not vaccinated, pregnant women and infants under 12 months with weakened immune systems.
