Salem Clinic and Salem Health are preparing to enter into a partnership for the purpose of conducting and operating a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center (ASC). The goal, pending a final concept, is to open in late 2018.

The establishment of an ASC is an important strategy to address health care payment reform and to meet ACO and other regulatory requirements. It is also important to engage in different partnerships with our community physicians, building on our common goal of providing excellent value-based care for our community.

The Common Ground Compact is built on the assumption of good intent. Living this principle is important to all of us and I hope you will surface your thoughts about this venture in section chief meetings and upcoming CEO breakfast meetings. This concept is being broadly shared in individual conversations with medical staff as well as section chief meetings by the ELC with the goal of transparency, collaboration, and partnership development to drive value-based care.  Salem Clinic’s and Salem Health’s desire is to work with other physicians to join the venture as partners, shaping the vision of the community.

We will keep you informed of details as they are available. You can also contact me or Barbara Gunder if you have questions or suggestions.
