On March 30, Salem Health will join the rest of the nation in the yearly celebration of our honored physicians who dedicate their lives to advancing the health care of our community and society. Whether it’s on our own campuses or at free clinics, medical missions or health fairs, physicians are leaders in their fields and use the best available research and guidelines to deliver compassionate care for our patients, even when faced with significant challenges. Their unwavering commitment does not go unnoticed.
The red carnation, which stands for love and respect, is often used to depict the special day and is sometimes placed at the graves of doctors who have passed. The custom of giving carnations to doctors on Doctors’ Day has origins dating to the early 20th century to thank colleagues for their work.
This year let’s take time to give thanks to the many physicians who serve Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics. We thank and honor you.
Happy National Doctors’ Day!
