Salem Health presented a $50,000 community partnership grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk counties to help hire a full-time coordinator for the Triple Play initiative – a multi-faceted program that encourages healthy and active lifestyles.

The grant program began four years ago and will hit a $306,382 total in 2017.

Triple Play promotes wellness in kids ages 6 to 18, including how to eat smart, get fit and form positive relationships.

“Salem Health support ensures that we can offer this important program at all Clubs in Salem, Keizer and Woodburn,” said Kyle Buse, club athletics director.

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for those most at risk in our community. We’re excited to partner with the Boys & Girls Club to help make the program a reality.

These grants fund innovative collaboration among community organizations that share a common vision to meet community health needs as identified by the Salem Health Board of Trustees. Current priorities include obesity prevention, tobacco and substance use and early childhood health.
