We’ve created a new worksheet for the Pre-Surgical Screening (PSS) process to help prepare patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 for scheduled surgery or a procedure with anesthesia.
This sheet will also be provided to surgeons’ offices as a reference for their clinic staff when scheduling surgery and ordering preoperative labs and imaging. There is more published evidence to support delaying scheduled procedures if safe to do so, to decrease morbidity and mortality for patients who have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
