Non-monetary compensation reports due Dec. 31

Here’s your friendly reminder that all non-monetary items given to physicians on our Medical Staff need to be reported to the Corporate Integrity office by Dec. 31, 2016.  

Non-Monetary Compensation allows Salem Health to give a physician items or services that do not exceed a specific dollar amount per calendar year.  The aggregate value of items or services given should not exceed the $392 amount for 2016.  The non-monetary compensation limit in 2017 is $398.   

Non-monetary compensation gifts provided to a physician may include:

  • Gift baskets
  • Travel expenses
  • Dinner
  • Wine and/or
  • Tickets to sporting events
