Encourage your patients to call about curbside pickup
By: Hebatalla Elmotayam, pharmacist in charge
If your patients use the Salem Health Pharmacy for discharge and other prescriptions (or OTC items), they’ve added a handy curbside pickup service.
The service is available during these hours: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on weekends, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Here's how it works:
- Call 503-814-0412 (press "0") to schedule pick up at least two hours in advance of when you want to get your order.
- The pharmacy will collect payment via phone, and offer any counsel by a pharmacist at that time.
- When you arrive in your vehicle, please stop at the Security kiosk station on Oak St. at the entrance to campus.
- They've been instructed to ask your name, vehicle description, and whether you've scheduled the pickup. If you scheduled your pick-up, they'll direct you to parking.
- You'll see a Curbside Pickup sign near the pharmacy that says "Park here, remain in your vehicle and call 503-814-9972."
- Call that number and within about two minutes, your order will come to your car! Parking is allowed only while waiting for delivery.
You can still walk into the pharmacy to get your order and shop for over-the-counter products; standard pharmacy hours are M-F 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m; weekends and holidays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The goal of the curbside service during the limited hours listed earlier is to reduce congestion inside the pharmacy.
