To reduce this waste, starting April 2, a new pop-up alert (BPA) will activate when a second dose of a vaccine is ordered “too early” for the following vaccines:
Vaccine |
Time frame defined as “too early” |
Population |
Pneumovax (PPSV 23) |
Within 5 years of the last dose |
Adults |
Influenza |

Pediatrics |

If you have any questions, concerns or ideas for other vaccines which would benefit from a similar alert, please contact Matt Tanner in Pharmacy matthew.tanner@salemhealth.org or 503-814-9960.
