New outpatient CT scanner coming this spring

Canon Aquilion One 256 has higher resolution, lower radiation

By: Polly Bisquera, PMO Project Manager

The imaging department at Salem Hospital has begun the process of replacing its outpatient CT machine. The old machine was decommissioned Nov. 29.

Four months are needed to install the new Canon Aquilion One 256 slice CT. It will deliver higher imaging quality and lower radiation doses to our patients and expand our cardiac scanning capabilities.

While the old CT is out of service, the hospital will have a mobile CT trailer on campus attached to the Imaging department. This will minimize disruption for patients and providers while we upgrade our imaging fleet.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Jonathan Fetterley, imaging service line director.
