A new panel for ordering Emergent Uncrossmatched RBCs when a full trauma pack is not indicated started July 24.
This order panel includes the Initiate/Transfuse Emergent Release of Uncrossmatched PRBCs, Type & Screen and Prepare Uncrossmatched PRBC’s order components.
When the Emergent Uncrossmatched RBCs order is used, the blood can be prepared ahead of time and will be ready when the transporter arrives for the blood without calling blood bank first. This order is available for inpatients, ensures order accuracy and streamlines documentation.
