New option for cardiac outpatient monitoring

Refer patients for new, non-invasive Zio patch for continuous ECG

Salem Health’s Heart and Vascular Services has a new option for cardiac monitoring — the Zio patch by iRhythm, a noninvasive method worn for 3 to 14 days. There are no wires, boxes, or batteries to worry about. The patch is water resistant, so patients can shower. There is no electrode changing for the patient. This monitor provides long-term continuous ECG monitoring. The report for the Zio is generated after it is worn.

Providers can refer patients who present with syncope, palpitations, fluttering, racing, vertigo, increased fatigue, anxiety, shortness of breath or other potential cardiac irregularities. Please send a completed cardiovascular order form to centralized scheduling. The cardiac monitoring patch must be selected with the duration of the monitor. See below.
