New Epic search tool connects providers caring for rare conditions

‘Look-Alikes’ available Dec. 17

On Tuesday, Dec. 17, Salem Health will have a new feature in Epic called Look-Alikes. This search helps providers find other providers caring for similar patients with either known or unknown rare conditions, with the option to connect.

If you have a patient with a condition that’s a good fit for Look-Alikes, find this icon in the Problem List and Story Board:

On Dec. 17, providers will be opted in by default to the Look-Alikes network. You can update your participation settings for Look-Alikes by clicking the wrench icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Look-Alikes activity. If you choose to opt out of the Look-Alikes network, you can always opt in later.
