MyChart imaging patient flow

07 Jun 2020

Check out the features for your patients

By: Jeremy Bogan, information services business relations administrator

Updates to MyChart imaging patient flow went live on June 2. Here are some of the main features that will impact the overall MyChart patient experience:

  • Ticket Scheduling – Allows the patient to schedule specific imaging orders via MyChart at Salem Hospital, West Valley Hospital, and Woodburn. It uses decision tree questionnaires to help with scheduling and looks at which location the insurance authorization allows the procedure to be performed at.
  • Patient Entered Clinical Questionnaires – The questionnaires are available to the patient during their E-Check and will be visible in Epic to the Imaging Front Desk, Imaging Techs, and Radiologists. This assists with reducing paper questionnaires being handed to the patient at check in.
  • Cancel/Reschedule – Allows the patient to cancel their imaging appointment up to 24 hours before the date/time.  Patients can reschedule appointments that are currently set up for ticket scheduling.
  • E-Check In – Allows the patient to verify/update demographics, guarantor, insurance, allergies, medications, travel screening questions, and patient entered questionnaires via MyChart.
  • Hello Patient – Allows the patient’s mobile device to notify the front desk staff when the patient is physically near their location and changes the appointment status to present to alert staff.
  • Fast Pass – This functionality has been reactivated. A patient can indicate they would like an earlier appointment if a time opens up. The scheduler will add the patient to a Wait List. MyChart will send a message to the patient when/if an earlier appointment time is available and the patient can select the new appointment. The system will cancel/reschedule the existing appointment for them.

These new features should continue to enhance our patient’s MyChart experience and provide quicker and more efficient care. If you have any specific questions about this new functionality, please contact the Solution Center at 503-814-4357 or solution.center@salemhealth.org.
