We are pleased to announce Swati Mehta, MD, has accepted the position of medical director of the adult hospitalist program effective Jan. 1, 2016. In assuming this role, she will have dyad leadership responsibility with Dana Wehrli for the clinical and operations oversight of the program.
We are eager for Dr. Mehta to begin her leadership role within our organization and believe her expertise and experience will be a great asset for the program. She is nephrology trained at NYPH- Weil Cornell. She has also been a chief resident at SUNY, Upstate, NY and brings years of clinical experience in both academic and community-based hospital settings. Her most recent position was as an interim associate medical director, adult hospitalist here at Salem Health which she fulfilled with great success.
Prior to this position, Dr. Mehta was an adult internal medicine hospitalist at Salem Health where she has practiced since 2013. She has been awarded the Salem Health Medical Group Patient Experience Achievement Award for outstanding patient experience scores. She has been involved in numerous hospital committees, and has been a vital part of our improved patient experience scores as well as had a key role in implementing evidence-based improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
