Main hospital entry closed 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

19 May 2024

Non-screened building entries have increased

By: John Bauer, Chief Legal Officer

To continually improve safety, our Security team analyzes access points to buildings on the Salem campus. Adjustments are based on data collected to keep unscreened patients and visitors from gaining access.

Building A’s main north entrance has seen an increase in reported non-screened patients and visitors tailgating during nights when the entrance is not staffed for weapons screening. Therefore, we are disabling badge access every day from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. at this main entrance. This change will start on Monday, May 20. All other badge entry points for providers and staff remain the same.

Thanks for everyone's continued support in preventing tailgating at the many entry points on the Salem Hospital campus.
