Welcome the new vice president of medical affairs!

It is my sincere pleasure to announce that Matt Boles, MD has been chosen as the new vice president of medical affairs.

Doctor Matt BolesI know many of you are familiar with Matt and his achievements here at Salem Health. A key area of focus in Matt's new job will be physician engagement and collaboration with independent, contracted and employed providers. Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Matt into his new role, which will begin Nov. 5.

Dr. Boles has been with Salem Health in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as the medical director of surgical services since 2013. Dr. Boles also serves as the lead anesthesiologist in charge, participating as a member of the surgical governance committee. 

He received a bachelor's degree from Whitworth University, a Master of Science in public health and his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 2007. In addition, he received a Master of Health Administration in 2017 from Oregon Health and Science University. He has also completed Physician Leadership Institute 1.0 and 2.0 and attended Lean leader field training in Japan in 2011.
