Friday, June 9, was the last day for our director of OR & SPD, Susan Spohr. She has chosen to focus on supporting her husband's care needs. Kristen Myers will be serving as interim director for the surgical services division. Kristen is currently our director of perianesthesia, including PACU, Prep & Recovery, Pre-Surgical Screening and Endoscopy. She will take on the director role for the OR and Sterile Processing departments.
Kristen has been a nurse for 36 years and also earned her MBA from George Fox University. She has served Salem Health in the past as a nurse manager for NTCU as well as the director of Patient Safety and Clinical Support before joining the surgical services division in 2015.
Kristen bring skills in collaboration and problem-solving, using our Lean tools to bring together an interdisciplinary team. She also has a relentless focus on patients’ safety and experience.
Kristen lives in Salem with her husband Rick and enjoys skiing, hiking, bike riding, hanging out with friends and traveling to see her children and grandchildren.
