Effective March 28, testing for Lamellar Bodies will be performed at Peace Health. This change is due to the low volume of Lamellar Body testing. With the replacement of the current hematology analyzers used to perform Lamellar Body testing, specimens are not available for the validation process.
Specimen requirements for Lamellar Body testing include:
Standard Volume 1.0 ml
Minimum Volume 0.5 ml
Specimen: Amniotic fluid
Stability: Refrigerated 7 days
Performed: 7 days/week
Reported: Same day
Reference Values: > 56 Mature
