Participants will:
1) Review the 2017 ACC/AHA hypertension guidelines.
2) Understand how to integrate the guidelines into clinical practice.
3) Identify some of the controversies surrounding the new guidelines.

Dr. Yang has particular expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension and lipid disorders. He is especially interested in primary and secondary prevention of heart disease through aggressive risk-factor modification and lifestyle change. He conducts clinical research on new cholesterol-lowering therapies and appropriate treatment options for patients with coronary artery disease.
Dr. Yang is the president and governor of the Washington Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and is a member of its Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease leadership council. He chairs the Hypertension Working Group for the ACC Prevention Council and is the founder of the Asian Health Initiative at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
