Working with Dr. Stier is exceptional. He arrived promptly, even though he was in the middle of lunch. He was thoughtful and respectful to both patient and staff. He listened to the primary nurse and any added comments, and he respectfully approched and examined the patient. He politely and attentively spoke with family. This same behavior was repeated on every RRT he was called to worked on. He was present and cared.

Dr. Stier gently and respectfully approached a patient’s underlying issue of morbid obesity. He spoke with such kindness and grace. Postive and hopefully, yet realistic. He did not lecture. He did not belittle or embarass. He wasn't just factual either. That is too dry and impersonal. His sincerity was evident and he discussed the patient’s situation in full, showing the depth of his undertanding about this singular person and their singular issues. After he left, his residual effect was obvious: The patient was beaming with both new energy and hope to improve their life.

It was obvious that Dr. Stier was very busy that weekend. Yet he never made staff or patients feel that he didn’t have time for them.
