As National Nurses Week was this past week, I would like to honor and celebrate all the nurses in our community and their contributions to our patients and the medical profession. Nurses serve in many capacities, as caregivers, supporters, advocates and leaders. Nurses are vital, caring for patients at their sickest and most vulnerable times. Nurses are heroes at the front lines of care, providing tireless service that plays an incredible role in the outcomes and experiences of every patient. I know that we were not able to celebrate Nurses Week this year as we normally would due to COVID-19, so please take a moment to thank all the outstanding nurses on your unit and in your practice for their compassion, commitment and dedication.
