To our OR utilizers, please be aware that when The Joint Commission/CMS surveys, they will look to see if H&Ps are timely and contain the elements defined by the medical staff in the rules and regulations. If H&Ps prior to surgery or invasive procedure requiring anesthesia services are not completed or do not contain elements outlined in rules and regulations, then we are at risk for a citation.
