Dr. Pederson receives Role Model for Excellence star award

Deborah S. Pederson, MD, was honored recently with Salem Health’s Role Model for Excellence star award. She received the award on July 6 from Angie Anderson, DO, from the Medical Staff Engagement Committee.
From her nomination:
“Dr. Pederson was my mom's anesthesiologist for a surgery on May 21. My mom has had numerous surgeries and has challenges with nausea/vomiting after surgery and pain control. Dr. Pederson met with my mom in the surgery prep area before surgery. She sat on the bed and held my mom's hand the entire time she talked with my mom. My mom and I discussed the challenges my mom faces with surgery. Dr. Pederson was attentive and discussed a plan with us. I'm happy to report that after this surgery my mom had no nausea or vomiting! Dr. Pederson's bedside manner and her competency to address the patient situation were fabulous! My mom says she hopes Dr. Pederson ‘wrote down the recipe’.”
