Important information to facilitate provider parking on campus

By: Hannah Bauer, technical communications coordinator

Don’t forget to complete your mandatory HealthStream computer-based training and register your vehicle.

  • At the end of the CBT, you will have the opportunity to register your vehicle(s).
  • You will need to provide license plate numbers for all vehicles you wish to park on campus.
  • Use the tip sheet – it will help you.

Other important things to know by Jan. 6

  • Parking changes begin Monday, Jan. 6.
    • Provider parking is no longer available in the main parking garage or the parking lot east of Building D.
    • Parking availability will be increased under Building A and other locations to compensate.
  • The map showing provider parking after Jan. 6 is available here. (You will have to enter your Salem Health login to view it.)
  • The emergency department drop-off moves on Jan. 8.
    • Patients who arrive on their own will drive into the Oak Street turnaround and walk through the renovated lobby to the emergency department. They will use valet parking.
    • Pedestrian access to the emergency department from the parking garage will remain open throughout the project.
    • Ambulance arrivals are unchanged by construction.
  • Employees begin “no-park” days. You will see the shuttle service picking up and dropping off on the north side of Building B.

Answers to frequently asked questions

  • Patients can learn about parking on campus by visiting www.salemhealth.org/campus-improvements.
  • Existing workflows for emergent entry to campus (surgery, emergency medicine, OBGYN, etc.) will continue. This includes designated parking spots under Building A, next to Building D, and use of the patient valet service in extreme cases.
  • If you are here as a patient or visitor, you may park in patient/visitor parking as long as you leave a note on your dashboard. If a family member drives your car to campus, they must also leave a note on the vehicle dashboard.
  • If you practice at West Valley Hospital, you will be required to keep your current green parking sticker.
