Direct Radiology responsible for prelim overnight reads starting June 30

15 Jun 2022

Virtual command center available during upgrade

By: Michelle Pierson, PMO project manager

As of June 30, Salem Radiology Consultants (SRC) will discontinue reading nightshift radiology from the hours of 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. On June 30, Direct Radiology (a teleradiology company) will assume preliminary interpretation of the imaging reports from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. New infrastructure has been constructed allowing Salem Health and Direct Radiology to electronically transmit images for interpretation.

Preliminary imaging reports and results will be filed electronically within Epic. SRC will perform the final over-reads on these studies the following day. Any discrepancies between the preliminary interpretations by Direct Radiology and final interpretations by SRC will be flagged and communicated to the applicable clinical care teams. There will be no downtime associated with this transition.

Problems? A virtual Command Center will be available during the upgrade, in case users encounter issues. During, or after go-live, call the Solution Center at 503-814-4357 and choose option 1 for Direct Radiology Go-Live Support.
