Thank you all for your patience and support during the transcription and dictation outage caused by a cyberattack that impacted our vendor, Nuance.
Dictation and transcription were restored to normal service levels on July 7. This includes the agreed-upon turnaround of less than 24 hours for transcription completion.
To reduce confusion and frustration, delinquency letters were paused for the three weeks surrounding the Nuance downtime and Independence Day.
Though delinquency letters were not being sent, deficiencies continued to be auto-assigned in Epic, so if you have deficiencies, please take note. Delinquency letters resumed their regular cycle on July 18.
If you have outstanding deficient reports, it is critical that you dictate them as soon as possible.
Any duplicate reports generated through self-entry, Dragon or dictation from June 27 to July 7 will be identified and escalated to you to determine which report should remain in the legal health record.
