Construction ahead of schedule: psychiatric medicine northwest wing

07 Jul 2019

By: Zennia Ceniza, vice president of clinical operations and Matthew Boles, MD, vice president of medical affairs

Great news! The scheduled construction for the northwest wing of the Psychiatric Medicine Center finished sooner than originally planned. The wing re-opened the evening of July 3.

Kudos to Facilities for the quick turn-around and quality work — plus the project team for keeping attention to detail and making patient safety a priority. We’re happy to report there was no significant impact to PMC or ED operations and their ability to provide excellent patient care.

This work brings us one step closer to meeting all Joint Commission requirements for a ligature-free/resistant environment. As the work continues, it will not require closure of the entire north wing.

Thank you to our providers and everyone involved for your patience and cooperation, which helped immensely with making this a success!
