Based on feedback from the medical staff, the hospital has recently revised the R/O TB panel. The revision was developed in cooperation with the Physician Coalition. When ordering a Quantiferon Gold (QFG) you will no longer see a checked box for airborne isolation. When ruling out Tuberculosis, an R/O TB Panel should be ordered, where you will see pre-checked orders for both Smear & Culture for AFB, and PCR. This panel will trigger airborne isolation for suspected TB.
