The Bylaws Review Committee, an ad hoc committee of the MEC, has proposed addition of a new medical staff membership category.  This recommendation has been reviewed by the MEC and Board Governance Committee and now comes to the medical staff for consideration and vote.

As members of the Salem Health medical staff seek to expand services, technology and techniques available to our community, a role for physicians from outside our community and perhaps even state being present to provide long term coaching support to our medical staff and meet best practices as recommended by vendors has been identified.

A group of stakeholders representing medical staff and administration reviewed our processes and in response to this identified need propose the Clinical Advisor staff category.  Input was sought from the Oregon Medical Board and regional and national hospital systems in making this proposal, which we hope will support our active Medical Staff members as they continually seek to innovate and bring best practices to Salem Health and our community.
