Joe Stalfire, MD, has submitted his resignation as president-elect of the Salem Health Medical Staff, effective Dec. 31, 2018. Dr. Stalfire has served in several roles in medical staff leadership including section chief and chair of the Committee for Professionalism. I am very grateful for Dr. Stalfire’s leadership and contributions to the health and well-being of the people and communities we serve. We wish him well as he continues his clinical practice.
We are seeking candidates interested in serving the remainder of Dr. Stalfire’s term (through December 2019). Candidates should be a member of the active medical staff with relevant clinical privileges and currently in good standing. They should also have previous service in medical staff leadership.

As per Salem Health Medical Staff bylaws, qualified candidates will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee (comprised of the medical staff president and three past medical staff presidents). The nominating committee will submit nominees to the medical staff for election in February 2019.
